Have a heavy heart?
Wanna shrug off, feel light, feel better?
Forgive yourself. Whatever you’ve done, whatever it is, as long as you’ve repented sincerely unto Allaah Azza Wa Jall, then do not doubt His Mercy, so forgive yourself.
Set free yourself, because no matter how you forgive those who have wronged you, you will never get that freedom, that peace in your heart when you haven’t forgiven yourself.
To be able to fully forgive those who have wronged you, you have to start from yourself. Start from the core, from the qalb, from your heart.
Allaah Azza Wa Jall forgives, so how can you a mere slave cannot?
Then after you have done that, then look over the mistakes of your companion, see and understand why such things have been done to you, before you get angry, put yourself in their shoes, how can one do such a thing?
After that, forgive, for nothing can be undone. So rather than live in this hatred, in this pain, forgive, yes maybe not immediately but forgive eventually.
Do not close the doors of your merciful heart, know that Allaah Azza Wa Jall never closes the doors of His Mercy.
However or no matter how painful it is, forgive for Allaah Azza Wa Jall rewards those who controls their angers and forgive when they can actually revenge.
If there is anything, then contemplate, you say you love Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam then reflect from His Character, remember how he bleed in Taif, when men and children were stoning him, that only His feet were not bleeding, imagine our beloved Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasalaam bleeding, a beloved of Allaah Azza Wa Jall!
Then reminisce how Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam made dua, a dua that move the heavens that made the angel Jibrail Alaihi Salaam came down, along with him was the angel appointed in the mountains, telling Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassalaam, that if he wants he can crash the people of Taif with the moutains…
Our beloved Muhammad Sallalalhu Alaihi Wassalaam was given that opportunity, but did he say Yes? Did he say go on crash them!? NO! WALLAHI NO!
Rather he said, No, for maybe one among the progeny be a worshipper of Allaah Azza Wa Jall!
Subhan’Allaah! Subhan’Allaah! Subhan’Allaah!
Look at his character, what a forgiving heart!
Reflect from that, forgive and Allaah Azza Wa Jall will forgive you too.
Realize that when you forgive, you release such burden in your heart, you release such pain from it and then you feel better subhan’Allaah.
Remember that companion that Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam that described that he was a man of Jannah, and the companion who heard this came and observed this man, and he found nothing extraordinary that this man was doing so he came to him and asked him, why Muhammad Sallalalhu Alaihi Wassalaam said that, and so he contemplated and said; maybe because i forgive everyone before I sleep.
Subhan’Allaah. There is a door in Jannah called Baab Al Kaazimeen Al Ghaiz Wal Aafina Amin Naas, this is the door for those who control their anger and forgive others.
Just think, what kind of harm can forgiving give you?
And we pray that Allaah Azza Wa Jall gives us the strength to forgive others and find the good in every situation, and may our hearts be filled with asking for His Forgiveness.
